This week’s operating decision is specific: which image or video gap is blocking page clarity, ad testing, or support right now? It may be PDP size proof, a first-three-second problem shot, support steps, UGC rights, or product-fact review after an AI edit.

Take a small US pet-travel store as an example. Its rear-seat protector is still in sample validation in May, with a $600 cap for this week’s shoot and editing. The PDP has only pack shots, the ad draft opens on a logo, and support keeps receiving installation and cleaning questions. The goal is not a full library: four proof packages—installation hero, muddy-paw cleaning, authorized owner action, and with-cover / without-cover comparison—each remove one buyer doubt.

“Visual proof” here means media a buyer can use to check one specific fact, not prettier decoration.     Find the visual proof gap in support tickets, return reasons, PDP image scroll, ad hooks, comment questions, and email clicks. Do not begin with poses; name the size, material, step, before/after, limit, or trust issue that is still unproven.

    Write the gap into the Visual Shoot Brief

    Use the Visual Shoot Brief decision practice to define the proof task, channel, buyer doubt, acceptance test, rights boundary, and review metric. If size proof is missing, request hero and proportion shots. If setup is unclear, request step images. If the first second is weak, request short-form video hooks.

    For each media set, record SKU / variant, asset ID / source file, proof task, channel / placement, rights owner / license, disclosure requirement, edit scope, expiry date, AI edit record, platform spec, and launch metric.
