AI Commerce Automation: What to Automate and What to Keep Human

AI automation is not a handoff of operating judgment to a model. This week, use one release card to check inputs, allowed actions, human review, and rollback: AI may read, classify, draft, and alert; refunds, pricing, inventory, Feed, spend pauses, and public claims still need human confirmation.

AI automation is not a handoff of operating judgment to a model. This week, use one release card to check inputs, allowed actions, human review, and rollback: AI may read, classify, draft, and alert; refunds, pricing, inventory, Feed, spend pauses, and public claims still need human confirmation.

This is not a survey of every ecommerce specialty. It gives your team one weekly review rhythm for deciding what to handle first across product, inventory, conversion, ads, support, and profit.

Lesson outline

  1. 1Write the workflow name, trigger, and impact scope
  2. 2Separate AI work into draft, alert, and executable tasks
  3. 3List input source, read permission, and write permission
  4. 4Check that product fact sources agree
  5. 5Mark blocked actions

Public core framework

  • Start with the workflow name, trigger condition, input source, and whether it affects pages, orders, customers, Feed data, or ad actions. If impact scope is unclear, do not move into release review.
  • Decide whether the workflow creates product copy drafts, summarizes support conversations, sends report alerts, or changes inventory, price, orders, customer records, Feed data, refunds, or ad actions. Drafts and alerts can be tested narrowly;
