Data Anomaly Review: What to Fix Next

Data analysis is not about opening more reports: for a pet rear-seat protector in sample validation, check the question, SKU, market, UTM, source authority, transaction_id, order and refund state, 7/14-day maturity, and rollback, then add data freshness, change logging, and recovery validation within one trusted decision; freeze whenever identity, state, or scope is unstable.

Basic full lesson

Data analysis is not about opening more reports: for a pet rear-seat protector in sample validation, check the question, SKU, market, UTM, source authority, transaction_id, order and refund state, 7/14-day maturity, and rollback, then add data freshness, change logging, and recovery validation within one trusted decision;

This is not a survey of every ecommerce specialty. It gives your team one weekly review rhythm for deciding what to handle first across product, inventory, conversion, ads, support, and profit.

Lesson outline

  1. 1Define this week's single business question and observation window
  2. 2Write the anomaly signal and affected scope
  3. 3Use the Data Source Authority Map
  4. 4Check the event contract and attribution fields

Public core framework

  • Do not open every report first. Write one sentence: whether the main issue is expensive traffic, low conversion, weak profit, high refunds, or weak repeat, and whether the window is same day, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, or 28 days.
  • Make the anomaly reviewable: which metric changed, which SKU, channel, device, page, or country is affected, where the first evidence came from, and whether promo, holiday, small sample, or same-week variable changes may be distorting the read.
