Understand what this lesson solves
Email segmentation is not about more tags. Use RFM, profit evidence, and Shopify Discounts boundaries to decide benefits, offers, and exclusions.
A Shopify email marketing and lifecycle series for teams with subscribers, orders, or paid traffic, covering welcome flows, abandonment recovery, segmentation, deliverability, repeat purchase, winback, and monthly email operating rhythm.
Lesson outline
- 1Open the Klaviyo / Shopify segment and define entry criteria
- 2Sample users and orders to prove the segment is real
- 3Route the customer to a concrete RFM state
- 4Choose the content job before generating a coupon
- 5Use the Offer Rule Simulator to choose offer pressure
- 6Check Shopify Discounts eligibility and limits
- 7Check discount combinations / no-stacking
- 8Recalculate the profit boundary in Pricing / ROAS
Public core framework
- Write the segment query, entry criteria, exit criteria, and update cadence first. Do not rely on a VIP or high-value label alone.
- If a segment has fewer than 50 people, review all or every recent buyer. For mid-sized stores, sample each core segment. For larger stores, stratify by RFM, SKU/category, market, discount history, refund/support risk, and keep the export.
