Shopify expands multi-currency payouts to eligible merchants in Australia and France

Shopify says eligible Shopify Payments merchants in Australia can receive payouts in 13 currencies, including AUD, NZD, USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, NOK, SEK, DKK, CHF, JPY, SGD and HKD.

For Australian merchants, those 13 currencies can be paid into an Australian bank account, or merchants can add an account in the US, New Zealand, the UK, Canada or the eurozone for the relevant currencies.

In France, eligible merchants can receive payouts in 18 currencies. EUR remains the default payout currency, while other currencies require additional bank accounts; the feature is available on Advanced and Shopify Plus plans.

For merchants operating across Australia, New Zealand, Europe or North America, receiving funds in a sale currency could reduce the need to convert every payout into the store's default currency, if the available bank-account setup fits the business.

The update is regional rather than universal: eligibility is limited to Shopify Payments stores on Advanced or Shopify Plus in Australia and France
